BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball collected the five-set victory over Catawba this evening on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
Jadon Ciriacks led the balanced attack with 12 kills on a .308 hitting percentage.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Catawba, 3-2 (21-25, 25-22, 25-27, 25-20, 15-13)

RECORDS: Lees-McRae (7-8/3-2); Catawba (5-9/2-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Catawba registered the first set at 25-21 after hitting .179 in the opening set.
- Lees-McRae evened the set score at 1-1 with a 25-22 set win. The Bobcats held off a late rally from Catawba for the set victory.
- In the third set, Lees-McRae had a set point at 24-23, but Catawba battled back for the 24-24 tie and earned the set at 27-25.
- The Bobcats used their best hitting percentage of the evening in the fourth at .333 for the 25-20 set win in the fourth set and forced the final fifth set.
- Catawba quickly jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the fifth, but Lees-McRae made the comeback. The Bobcats tied the set 10-10 with a service ace from Ciriacks and collected the win at 15-13 off a kill from Davide Nicolini.
- Ciriacks recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs in the match. Ben Fincham followed with nine kills and eight digs. Nicolini accumulated seven kills, three blocks, and three digs.
- Abdirahman Ahmed distributed 34 assists in five sets and collected three kills. Ben Ratliff-Becher had 10 digs in five sets at the libero position.
