Makenzie Hicks accounted for 310 passing yards and seven touchdowns as the Lees-McRae flag football team advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Flag Football Championship with the 47-6 win over King today.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two sides played a defensive battle for the first 15 minutes before Lees-McRae opened the scoring with 20 points before the halftime break.
- Hicks found Natalia Hernandez de Leon in the back of the endzone for the first touchdown of the day and the Bobcats led 7-0. Hicks then threw a touchdown to Ava Rivera with 8:38 left in the first half.
- Hicks connected with Hernandez de Leon for the second time in the contest at the two minute mark and pushed the margin to 20-0 with the one-point conversion.
- In the third quarter, the Bobcats found the endzone once again with a connection from Hicks and Alvarado. Hicks and Alvarado tallied another touchdown for the Bobcats to start the fourth quarter.
- The Bobcats recorded 13 more points in the final quarter for the 47-6 win over King.
- Hicks completed 23-40 for 310 yards and seven touchdowns. Hernandez de Leon hauled in five receptions for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Alvarado had six catches for 83 yards while Ava Rivera caught six balls for 73 yards.
- Mackenzie Walker led a strong defense for Lees-McRae with nine flag pulls and one sack. Tami Chatwood, Sydney Stigler, and Kennedy Vannoy had five flag pulls in the contest. Sandra Mason and Alvarado collected one interception each for the Bobcats.
