Conor O'Gorman found the back of the net in the 72nd minute in today's Conference Carolinas and home opener for Lees-McRae men's soccer.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Cristiano Leite had the first shot on goal in the 14th minute, but Belmont Abbey's Jackson Bennett made the first save of the match.
- Lees-McRae had two more chances in the span of eight seconds with Sean McDonald and Andrea Marrazzo having shots stopped in the 31st minute.
- The Bobcats and Crusaders headed into the break tied at 0-0.
- Leite started the attack once again in the second half, but his shot hit off the crossbar in the 66th minute.
- O'Gorman registered the first goal of the match in the 72nd minute after a shot just inside the 18-yard box beat Belmont Abbey's goalkeeper.
- Lees-McRae kept the Crusaders off the board for the full 90 minutes and earned the league opener at 1-0.
- The Bobcats held the advantage with a 11-1 shot count and 6-1 shots on goal margin.
- Jonathan Kienle collected one save in today's match and earned his second shutout of the season.
