HICKORY, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Lenoir-Rhyne Friday afternoon at Hickory High School in Hickory, N.C.
The Bears (1-2) picked up their first win of the year while Zorica Djuric and Lucy Stofberg picked up a pair of wins. The Bobcats (1-4) saw two players make their season debut.
Hillary Lutz (Shelby, N.C.) put up a tough battle at No. 3 single against Stofberg, but lost 6-2, 6-3.
Rachael Nobbs (North Charleston, S.C.) and Rachel Grether (Claremont, Fla.) suited up for coach Skylar Warren for the first time this season and played in No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, respectively.
LMC welcomes UVa.-Wise Sunday, March 1 at 10 a.m. to Banner Elk, N.C.
