MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. --- Sophomore Amanda Chapman picked up her third singles win of the year, but the Lees-McRae women's tennis team lost to Mount Olive, 8-1, in a Conference Carolinas contest Saturday at the Walker Tennis Center in Mount Olive, N.C.
The Trojans (3-1, 2-0) claimed eight of the bouts in straight sets. The Bobcats fell to 2-6, 0-2.
Chapman (Sunderland, Md.) ousted Jennifer Byrd, 6-2, 6-3 in No. 5 singles.
Junior Taylor Bost (Jefferson, Ga.) fell short in a 7-5, 6-3 decision at No. 4 singles to Maite Belloso.
LMC travels to CC foe Converse Saturday, March 14 at 12 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.
