BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Junior Taylor Bost and sophomore Caroline Green earned a pair of wins each while the Lees-McRae women's tennis team handled Southern Wesleyan, 7-1, in Conference Carolinas action Saturday at LMC Tennis Courts in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Bobcats (4-11, 2-5) doubled last year's win total with the victory by sweeping all singles. The Warriors (1-13, 1-8) earned a win at No. 1 doubles.
Green (Columbia, Tenn.) made light work of Elizabeth Mulkey at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1. The sophomore would team up with Amanda Chapman (Sunderland, Md.) to blank Abbey Coker and Brooke Strickland in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
Bost (Jefferson, Ga.) cruised past Strickland, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4 singles.
Senior Rachel Grether (Cleremont, Fla.) grabbed a win at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, against Kaycee Blackwell.
Senior Samantha Wohlers (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) and junior Hillary Lutz (Shelby, N.C.) grabbed wins at No. 1 & 3 singles, respectively.
Coach Skylar Warren's squad welcomes Limestone Sunday, April 12 at 1 p.m. for a CC tilt in Banner Elk, N.C.
