TIGERVILLE, S.C. --- Junior Amanda Chapman gutted out a three-set win at No. 6 singles, but the Lees-McRae women's tennis team fell 8-1 to North Greenville in Conference Carolinas play Friday afternoon at the Vance Tennis Complex in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Crusaders improved to 2-4, 2-0 CC while the Bobcats dropped to 1-5, 0-2.
Chapman (Sunderland, Md.) claimed the first set, 7-5, before falling 6-7 (5-7) in the second. The junior clamped down to win the third, 10-7.
Caroline Green (Columbia, Tenn.) and Hillary Lutz (Shelby, N.C.) fell by identical 7-5, 6-2 scores, in No. 1 and 2 singles action, respectively.
The duo dropped a tight match in No. 1 doubles, 8-7.
LMC returns to action Saturday, March 19 at 9:30 a.m. for a CC tilt against Southern Wesleyan in Central, S.C.
