Bobcats take down North Greenville for second straight win

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team won its second straight Conference Carolinas match with a 5-2 North Greenville on Sunday (Apr. 7).

The Bobcats took two out of three doubles matches for one point, before winning four out of six singles matches to get the win. Zeynep Cakirer and Mackenzie Langmade earned a shutout 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, while Rebecca Pierce and Jaden Acklin also won 6-0 at No. 3 doubles. Cakirer would win 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, while Langmade won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 singles. Pierce won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, before Acklin won by shutout 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Lees-McRae (11-10, 3-4 Conference Carolinas) is back at home on Wednesday (Apr. 10) to host King (Tenn.) in league action. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
