SALISBURY, N.C. –
Cooper Gobble and
J.D. McCray were both double-winners as the Lees-McRae men's swimming team cruised past host Catawba, 117-39, in the dual meet this afternoon.
THE BASICS
MEN'S RESULTS: Lees-McRae def. Catawba, 117-39
LOCATION: Johnson Pool – Salisbury, North Carolina
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Gobble touched first in the 50 free (22.44) and in the 100 free (49.59).
- McCray won the 400 individual medley (4:25.11) and the 200 back (200.33).
- Christian Nishimura posted a first-place finish in the 500 free (5:00.21), while Thomas Savage won the 200 fly (2:01.90).
- Savage set a new personal best in the 100 back by swimming the first leg of the 400-medley relay winning team. Savage, Carson Cross, Josh Dowdy and Aaron Van Nostrand teamed up to claim the event with a time of 3:49.69.
- Carson claimed the title in the 200 breast (2:23.24) and Van Nostrand set a new personal best in the 200 back.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats return to the pool next Saturday as they visit nationally-ranked Carson-Newman for a dual meet starting at 1:00 p.m.
