CARY, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's and women's swimming completed the fourth and final day of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships on Saturday at the Triangle Aquatic Center.
Chase Davis broke his own school record in the 200 Yard Backstroke on Saturday.
THE BASICS
MEET: 2025 Conference Carolinas Championships
LOCATION: Triangle Aquatic Center -- Cary, North Carolina
NOTABLES:
- Davis recorded his best finish of the four-day meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 Yard Backstroke and a new school record in a time of 1:50.26.
- Davis earned third place in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 50.89 in the finals. Stephen Bandy collected eighth in the event.
- Bandy, Davis, Nathan Higdon, and Thomas Ware registered fourth in the 400 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 3:25.32.
- Higdon closed his individual events with a fourth-place finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:05.05.
- Taylor Simmons picked up an eighth-place finish in the Women's 1,650 Yard Free with a time of 18:21.74.
- Ware completed the 1,650 Yard Free in a time of 16:16.91 and earned third place.
- Davis picked up seventh place in the 200 Yard Freestyle on Friday evening with a time of 1:41.72 and knocked off two seconds of his preliminary time.
- Nathan Higdon took fourth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 56.57 and secured a new school record in the prelims with a time of 56.48.
- Riley Gleason took 13th in the Women's 100 Yard Backstroke and Ava Kjar placed 16th for the Bobcats.
- Gleason tallied a 12th place finish in the 200 Yard Back with a time of 2:20.73 and knocked off nearly four seconds of her prelims time.
