SALISBURY, N.C. –
Tate Abbott,
Anastasia Johnson and
Molly Layde combined to win six individual events and all swam a leg of a relay victory to pace the Lees-McRae women's swimming team to a 111-50 dual meet win over Catawba this afternoon.
THE BASICS
WOMEN'S RESULTS: Lees-McRae def. Catawba, 111-50
LOCATION: Johnson Pool – Salisbury, North Carolina
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Abbott touched first in the 50 free (24.45) and broke her own record in the 100 free (53.14) for the second-consecutive meet.
- Johnson set new school records in both the 200 fly (2:11.59), as she now owns both the 100 fly and 200 fly records, and broke the Lees-McRae record in the 200 breast (2:32.17).
- Johnson and Abbott teamed up with Jenna Morris and Hannah Campany to win the 400-medley relay with a time of 4:09.44.
- Layde touched first in both the 1650 free (17:53.48) and the 500 free (5:14.01), while joining Guillermina Rentsch, Kandace Kennedy and Kayla Fleming to win the 800-free relay with a time of 8:28.11.
- Campany also set a new personal record in the 500 free (5:43.45).
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats return to the pool next Saturday as they visit nationally-ranked Carson-Newman for a dual meet starting at 1:00 p.m.
