KINGSPORT, TENN. – Lees-McRae men's and women's swimming returned to the pool on Friday and posted two school records on the day at the Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships.
Chase Davis (100 Backstroke) and
Nathan Higdon (100 Breaststroke) posted school records in their respective events.

WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Rentsch earned second place in the 100 Yard Backstroke on Friday night with a time of 58.33. Kandace Kennedy took 15th in the event with a time of 1:02.82.
- The Bobcats closed day three with a sixth-place finish in the 400 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 4:21.18. Riley Gleason, Piper Kelly, Kennedy, and Rentsch raced for the Bobcats in the event.
- Lees-McRae is currently in seventh place with 163.5 total points heading into the final day of competition at the Kingsport Aquatic Center.
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Higdon paced the Bobcats with a second-place finish in the 100 Yard Breastroke and new school record, 56.60. Higdon set the record in the morning prelims at 57.15.
- Davis followed Higdon with an improvement of his school record in the 100 Yard Backstroke at 50.68 while placing third in the event.
- Josh Wall placed fourth in the 400 Yard IM to start the night with a time of 4:08.49. Stephen Bandy collected seventh in the 400 IM with a time of 4:19.94.
- Cooper Gobble took ninth in the 100 Yard Butterfly after touching the wall in 52.35 and Asie Buttar followed in 10th at 53.20.
- Caleb Eidson earned sixth in the 200 Yard Freestyle after finishing in 1:42.66 and Carter Hawkes collected 13th with a time of 1:48.27. Aaron Van Nostrand recorded 14th with a time of 1:48.54.
- Van Nostrand and Bandy went seventh and eighth in the 100 Backstroke to close out the individual night for the Bobcats.
- Lees-McRae turned in a time of 3:28.27 and placed fifth in the 400 Yard Medley Relay. Davis and Higdon joined teammates Cooper Gobble and Wall in the final event of the night.
- The Bobcats are third overall after the third day swimming with 338 total points. Emmanuel leads the standings with 604 points.
