BRISTOL, Tenn. –
J.D. McCray tallied a third-place finish in the 400 IM and a pair of fifth-place finishes in the 500 free and 200 back to lead the Lees-McRae men's swimming team at the King University Early Season Invite to open the 2021-22 season.

MEN'S RESULTS: 4th of 10

MEN'S NOTABLES:
- McCray touched third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.92, while also finishing fifth in both the 500 free (4:51.43) and 200 back (1:59.33) respectively.
- Caleb Eidson finished sixth in the 50 free (21.49), eighth in the 200 free (1:47.65), and 10th in the 100 free (48.16).
- Chase Davis touched seventh in the 200 back (1:59.73) and ninth in the 100 back (55.63), while Carson Cross was eighth in the 200 breast (2:16.82).
- Thomas Ware also posted a ninth-place finish in the 1650 free (17:24.41).
- The medley relay team of Davis, Cross, Eidson, and Cooper Gobble finished fifth in the 200 (1:38.88) and seventh in the 400 (3:39.79).
- McCray, Gobble, and Eidson joined Stephen Bandy to touch sixth in the 200-free relay (1:29.15), while McCray, Ware, Gobble, and Eidson finished seventh in the 400-free relay with a time of 3:18.13.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats will host King in a dual meet on Saturday, Oct. 9 in Boone, North Carolina. The competition will begin at 2 p.m.
