JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Three different Bobcats clinched individual event wins, including
Tate Abbott who was a triple winner, but it was not enough as nationally-ranked Carson-Newman posted a 144-96 win over the Bobcats in the dual meet this afternoon.
THE BASICS
WOMEN'S RESULTS: No. 8 Carson-Newman – 144; Lees-McRae – 96
LOCATION: Carson-Newman University – Jefferson City, Tennessee
NOTABLES:
- Abbott touched first in the 50 free (24.51), 100 free (52.99) and in the 100 fly (1:00.40), while Hannah Gunsallus and Fanny Courbot tallied first-place finishes in the 200 free (1:59.99) and in the 200 breast (2:30.42).
- Lily Bussey and Mary Palmer finished second in both the 200 fly (2:22.81) and in the 200 breast (2:38.53) respectively.
- Taylor Simmons posted a pair of third-place finishes in the 200 free (2:01.78) and in the 500 free (5:26.25), while Courbot was third in the 100 breast (1:08.49).
- Jenna Morris and Guillermina Rentsch were third in both the 200 fly (2:38.22) and the 100 back (1:04.76) respectively.
