JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. –
Tate Abbott and
Anastasia Johnson each posted individual event wins and combined to set new programs records in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly to pace the Lees-McRae women's swimming team against No. 10-ranked Carson-Newman this afternoon.
THE BASICS

WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Abbott broke her own program in the 50 free (24.19) for a first-place finish, while also breaking her 100 free record for the third-consecutive meet with a time of 52.41.
- Johnson and Abbott finished first and second in the 100 fly with a time of 57.60 and 58.56 respectively, with Johnson's mark being a new program record.
- Molly Layde finished second in both the 500 free (5:16.81) and in the 1000 free (10.42.89), while Abbott posted a second-place finish in the 100 free (52.41).
- Johnson and Guillermina Rentsch finished third in both the 200 fly (2:17.52) and in the 100 back (1:02.66).
NOTEWORTHY:
- Carson-Newman honored Lees-McRae senior Molly Layde prior to the meet.
- From Coach Weddell: "Molly has meant so much to our program and has really helped in setting Lees-McRae on the path to success through her hard work and dedication."
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats now have two weeks off to prepare for the Conference Carolinas Championships that begin on Thursday, Feb. 25 in Kingsport, Tennessee.
