GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas released its 2022 Men's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll on Friday morning, with the Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team, under head coach
Brad Dunn, ranked sixth. Seniors
Antonio Cruz,
J.P. Galloway, and
Rob Mendez have all been selected as Preseason Players to Watch by the leagues' office.
Belmont Abbey claimed four first-place votes and 33 total points to clinch the top spot in the preseason poll. Mount Olive garnered three first-place votes and 32 total points to be picked second, while North Greenville finished with 26 total points to be slated third overall. Players to Watch…Cruz, who is entering his fourth year in Banner Elk, posted the third-most saves/game in the Conference Carolinas last season (9.90/game) and will look to have a strong final season to his career in Banner Elk. Galloway, who is also entering his fourth year with the program, paced the Bobcats with 27 points last season (19 goals, eight assists), while Mendez, who tallied seven ground balls and 18 face-off wins last season, will look to have a breakout season.
