SALISBURY, N.C. – The doubles teams of

Laura Ocampo and
Anita Ivanova /
Nursharneem Shamsuddin won their matches to claim the doubles point for the Bobcats, while Ocampo and
Zeynep Cakirer won their singles matches, but it was not enough as host Catawba won four singles matches to clinch the 4-3 win in the non-conference match this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Yang and Ocampo won the #3 doubles match by a 6-4 score, while Ivanova and Shamsuddin won the #2 doubles match by a 6-4 score as well.
- Ocampo clinched a 6-4, 6-4 win in the #6 singles match to earn another point for the Bobcats.
- Cakirer won the first set 7-6, before winning the #3 singles match with a 6-1 win in set two.
- Yang and Mei Hiramatsu both won single sets in their #2 and #4 singles matches respectively, before falling short in third set.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats will open Conference Carolinas play as they travel to Belmont Abbey on Saturday, March 19 for a 12 p.m. match.
