BELMONT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae women's tennis team clinched five singles matches and won two of the three double matches en route to clinching a 6-1 win at Belmont Abbey to clinch their first win of the season and first Conference Carolinas victory this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lees-McRae doubles team of Zeynep Cakirer and Mei Hiramatsu won the #2 doubles match with a score of 6-2, while the duo of Rhidaim Yang and Laura Ocampo won the #3 doubles match by a score of 6-3.
- Both Hiramatsu and Cakirer rallied from a loss in the first set to clinch a win in the #1 singles match (2-6, 6-3, 6-1) and in the #2 singles match (1-6, 6-1, 6-3) respectively.
- Anita Ivanova battled to win the first set (7-6), before clinching a win in the #3 singles match with a 6-1 score in set two.
- Nursharneem Shamsuddin and Yang clinched victories in the #4 singles (6-4, 6-4) and in the #5 singles (6-3, 6-1) matches respectively.

The Bobcat will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne on Monday, March 21 for a non-conference match starting at 2 p.m.
