HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Augustin crossed fourth in Heat 1 of the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.51 after clipping a hurdle in the last curve of her race.
- Her time ranks 10th after the preliminary round, which was .58 seconds slower than the ninth-place finish to fall short of earning a spot in the final round on Saturday.
- She finished as the highest Conference Carolinas runner in the event, beating out Quanterra Harrison from UNC Pembroke by .50 seconds.
- Sims Jr. battled through injury to finish the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:38.35 in Heat 3.
- He finished as the second-highest Conference Carolinas runner in the event, with Emmanuel's Sulaimane Bangura finishing 7th (46.66) overall.
