BOONE, N.C. – Christian Bargaineer,
Deanna Betzer,
Campbell Dille, and
Josh Gillis all recorded first-place finishes in Friday's App State Split Open. The Bobcat men earned second place overall with 89 total points and the women's squad placed fourth with 66 points.

MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Bargaineer claimed the first victory for the Bobcat men in the 55 Meter Hurdles after crossing the line in a time of 7.97 seconds.
- Jayden Green and Corimonte Eatmon earned third and fourth place, respectively, in the 400m dash after times of 52.55 and 54.15 in the race.
- In the 800m Run, Gillis turned in a first-place performance after narrowly beating Milligan's Carter Windham with a time of 2:02.69. Ben Gribbins rounded out the scoring for the Bobcats with a seventh-place finish in a time of 2:14.95.
- In the 55m dash, Green and Aaron Kirby picked up a combined nine points as Green finished in fourth and Kirby right there in fifth place. Green turned in a time of 6.70 seconds and Kirby crossed the line at 6.77 in their respective sections.
- Joshua Ehresman led the Bobcats in the Shot Put with a third-place mark after a throw of 13.72m and Khan Cline followed in fourth-place with a season-best throw of 12.75m.
- Isaac Reyna collected second place for Lees-McRae in the Men's 5000 Meter Run to kick off things in Boone this evening as Max Geckler, Colin Henry, and Parker Key all placed within the top ten for the Bobcats in the race.
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Betzer started the evening and her 2023 indoor season on the right foot in the Women's 5,000 Meter Run after securing the win with a time of 19:48.73 and Kaylee Kraver picking up a fifth-place finish for the Bobcats in a time of 21:35.19. Betzer now holds the top time in Conference Carolinas this season.
- In the Women's 800 Meter Run, Dille led the pack of three Bobcats in the top five as she finished in a time of 2:33.04 and fellow freshmen Maddie Quinn (3rd place) and Kaitlyn Rowe (5th place) clocked in at 2:38.81 and 2:48.61, respectively. Paiden Dula claimed eighth place for Lees-McRae with a time of 3:16.70.
- Dille almost earned her second win of the evening in the Women's Mile Run, but picked up a second-place marker with a time of 5:40.18.
- Symone Taylor registered a fourth-place finish in the 200-Meter Dash after clocking in at 29.26 for the Bobcats and Eshone Cofield-Jackson captured sixth with a time of 29.59.
- Lora Dillon continued her strong freshman campaign for the Bobcats as she had a mark of 11.16m in the Triple Jump to collect a fifth-place finish.
- Devon Davis placed eighth in the Shot Put this evening after a throw of 9.41 meters for Lees-McRae.
