BARBOURVILLE, Ky. –
Nathan Higdon posted a school record in the 100 Yard Breaststroke on Saturday as Lees-McRae men's swimming earned second place overall at Union College's Bulldog Invitational.

NOTABLES:
- Higdon knocked off two seconds from his preliminary time in the 100 Yard Breaststroke in the 'A' Finals on Saturday with a time of 57.72. Higdon placed third in the heat and captured the victory in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:06.40. Higdon also had two third-place finishes in the 400 Yard IM (4:08.67) and the 200 Yard Medley Relay (1:35.29).
- Lees-McRae began the three-day invite with a third-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay in a time of 1:29.29 with Bobcats Cooper Gobble, Josh Wall, Thomas Ware, Chase Davis, and Caleb Eidson as the 'A' relay.
- Ware registered a second-place finish in the 500 Yard Free with a season-best time of 4:41.03 and second in the 200 Free (1:42.75). Ware contributed a third place in the 1650 Yard Free with a time of 16:21.67 and second place in the 800 Yard Free Relay (6:58.96) with fellow Bobcats Carter Hawkes, Davis, and Wall.
- Davis placed second in the 100 Yard Backstroke (51.35), second in the 200 Yard Back (1:51.11) and fifth in 500 Yard Free (4:58.78).
- Wall collected a second-place finish in the 200 Yard Butterfly (1:54.53) along with two fourth-place finishes in the 200 Yard IM (1:55.56) and 400 Yard IM (4:09.01).
- Eidson had a third-place finish in the 50 Yard Free (21.71) to lead the Bobcats in the event and fifth in the 1650 Yard Free (17:31.39).
- Gobble placed fifth in the 100 Fly (52.83) and two eighth-place finishes in the 200 Yard Free (1:49.03) and 100 Free (48.87).
- Aaron Van Nostrand had notable performances in the 200 Yard Backstroke (1:59.57) with a fifth-place finish, sixth in the 100 Back (54.37), and fourth place in the 200 Yard Free Relay (1:29.29) with teammates Stephen Bandy, Asie Buttar, and Davis.

Lees-McRae men's swimming is idle the rest of the 2023 year and will resume competition in 2024 on Saturday, January 20 in a tri-meet with King and Mars Hill in Boone, North Carolina.
