Pati Vedia Sanchez,
Lina Ngassi Saquot, and
Rhidaim Yang all earned singles victories on Friday afternoon, but Lees-McRae women's tennis ultimately fell short to Emmanuel, 4-3, in Conference Carolinas play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sanchez and Yang picked up the 6-4 decision at the No. 2 doubles position but the Lions collected the doubles point by winning at the No. 1 and 3 positions.
- Saquot got the Bobcats even with Emmanuel after a straight-set victory on court No. 6 at 6-2, 7-5.
- Anita Ivanova dropped a tough three-set match to Emmanuel's Soleny Gonzalez at 6-4, 5-7, 2-6. The Bobcats knotted the match once more at two-all after Sanchez recorded the 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles.
- Yang gave the Bobcats the one-point lead at 3-2 in the overall match after a two-set win at the No. 3 position, 7-5, 6-2 but Emmanuel took the match with wins on court one and five.
- Begum Gumussoy took the opening set, 6-3, but Emmanuel's Sabina Roua claimed the match for Lions with the second and third set victories.
