BANNER ELK, N.C. – Jada Wilson collected her first career no-hitter as a Bobcat this afternoon in a 9-0 victory over Southern Wesleyan in game two. Lees-McRae softball swept the Warriors with a 8-0 win in the first game of the doubleheader.
GAME #1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae – 8; Southern Wesleyan – 0

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Grayson Buckner, the reigning Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month, sent a solo home run shot in the second inning to give the Bobcats the one-run advantage.
- Julie Gast doubled the lead for the Bobcats with a solo home run to center field and Taylor Beurrier knocked her first collegiate home run to give Lees-McRae the 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth.
- Megan Powell added two more runs off a two RBI single in the fourth inning and she scored from first off a single via Buckner.
- Lees-McRae claimed the 8-0 victory in the sixth inning after Alana Parsons singled home Beurrier.
- Powell struck out six batters and only surrendered two hits and three walks en route to her 11th win of the season in the circle for the Bobcats.
FOR THE WARRIORS:
- Talissa Cannady and Andi Grae Wingate produced one hit apiece in the opener.
GAME #2 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wilson was dominant in the circle for Lees-McRae in today's game after going five full innings and only facing four over the minimum in today's no-hitter. Wilson had five strikeouts in the appearance.
- Buckner continued her hot streak from the plate with her team-high 10th home run of the season in the first inning to give the Bobcats the two-run advantage.
- Lees-McRae plated six more runs in the second with an one-out single via Abby West to start the rally. Morgan Crowe loaded the bases with a single through the left side and Julie Gast collected a RBI single as West scored.
- Buckner tacked on two more runs for the Bobcats with a two RBI single and Lauren Ritchie plated the final two in the frame with a single to center field.
- Riley Webster added the final run for Lees-McRae in the fourth frame with a double to the left-center gap as Emma Jackson touched home plate.
- Wilson sent the Warriors down in order in the fifth inning for the 9-0 victory in game two.
FOR THE WARRIORS:
- Emma Jo Wolfe took the loss for Southern Wesleyan after allowing eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits and three walks.
- Wingate and Ryanne Yarborough drew a walk apiece

Lees-McRae softball heads to Wilson, North Carolina on Friday, April 14 for a Conference Carolinas doubleheader at Barton. The first pitch from Wilson is at 2 p.m.
