Softball Concludes 2026 Season against No. 18 Lenoir-Rhyne

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Taylor Beurrier, Brooks Eaddy, Maycee Tickle, and Avery Walston all had multiple hits in today's doubleheader against No. 18 Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bears took the two games on Monday afternoon.

GAME #1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: No. 18 Lenoir-Rhyne – 16, Lees-McRae – 6
LOCATION: Bobcat Field – Banner Elk, North Carolina
RECORDS: Lenoir-Rhyne (34-11); Lees-McRae (10-32)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Lenoir-Rhyne jumped out to a 8-0 lead through three innings.
  • Lees-McRae battled back with three runs in the fourth inning. Tickle scored the first run for the Bobcats off a wild pitch. Haylea Huffines hit an infield groundout and Allie Johnston score on the play. Kierstin Kemper drew a bases-loaded walk for the third run of the frame.
  • Tickle connected on a leadoff home run in the fifth inning and Lees-McRae scored two more runs in the sixth with an RBI single from Tickle. Huffines earned an RBI single to cut the deficit to seven runs.
  • Tickle went 3-4 from the plate with three runs scored and two RBIs. Haven Helton went 2-4 from the plate. Johnston drew three walks and one hit in the game. Huffines joined Tickle with two RBIs in the game.

GAME #2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: No. 18 Lenoir-Rhyne – 16, Lees-McRae – 8

RECORDS: Lenoir-Rhyne (35-11); Lees-McRae (10-33)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Lees-McRae gained the 1-0 lead in the first inning after Beurrier scored. Eaddy followed with a two-run home run for the 3-0 advantage.
  • Lenoir-Rhyne took the lead at 4-3 and extended the lead to 16-4 in the seventh inning.
  • The Bobcats used a four-run rally in the seventh, but fell 16-8 to No. 18 Lenoir-Rhyne on Monday.
  • Beurrier, Eaddy, Tickle, and Walston all had two hits apiece in the second game of the day. Eaddy led the Bobcats with three RBIs, two hits, and one walk in foru plate appearances.
  • Georgia McConnell suffered the loss after going three and two-thirds in the start and allowed five runs (five earned) on seven hits and two strikeouts.
