BELMONT, N.C. – In a battle of the top two teams in the Conference Carolinas Northwest Division, Lees-McRae women's soccer bested Belmont Abbey, 2-1, after
Jordan Bartlinski scored with 27 seconds remaining in the match on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bartlinski placed a perfect ball into the back of the net with 27 seconds left in the match with the Crusaders. Averee Andrews began the play with a pass up to Bartlinski at the midfield.
- Lees-McRae and Belmont Abbey settled into another defensive struggle for the second matchup of the season. Ezra Carpenter delivered the first goal of the game after a miscue from Belmont Abbey's goalkeeper with 21 seconds left in the opening half.
- Belmont Abbey knotted the score at one goal with Addie Galek finding the back of the net at the 50th minute.
- The Bobcats and Crusaders looked to be heading to another draw this season, but Bartlinski gave Lees-McRae the game-winning goal with seconds to spare in today's battle.
- Belmont Abbey recorded a 11-3 shot advantage and 4-3 shots on goal advantage.
- Chiara Coppin made three saves in net for Lees-McRae and allowed her first goal since the non-conference matchup with Tusculum on September 11.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Galek registered her second goal of the season for Belmont Abbey. Brianna Sroka collected one stop in goal, but allowed two goals on the afternoon.
