BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's tennis made its home debut in Banner Elk with a 6-1 victory over Mars Hill this afternoon.
Begum Gumussoy,
Miranda Noor,
Lina Ngassi Saqout, and
Rhidaim Yang all went 2-0 on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats evened the doubles with a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles with Gumussoy and Yang. Noor and Saqout earned the doubles point for Lees-McRae with the 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
- Mars Hill evened the match with a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles, but the Bobcats rolled the final five matches of the day.
- Noor took the first set, 6-2, at the No. 2 singles and clinched the match in the third set with a 6-2 advantage.
- Yang continued the momentum with a impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles over Maria Razzetta and Saqout joined Yang with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
- Anita Ivanova powered her way to a victory at the No. 5 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 decision and Gumussoy collected a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
