WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Lees-McRae men's track & field team posted four new school records on Monday at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Christian Bargaineer (60 Meter Hurdles),
Joshua Ehresman (Shot Put),
Rien Freeman (Mile), and
Max Geckler (3,000 Meters) tallied program records on the day.
THE BASICS
MEET: Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships
RESULTS: 8th of 11 Teams
LOCATION: JDL Fast Track – Winston-Salem, North Carolina
NOTABLES:
- Bargaineer started the day with a second-place finish in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.23 seconds, a new school record.
- Freeman broke the school record in the Mile on Monday with a time of 4:24.13. The record was held by Michael Davis since 2013. Brennen Pierce placed ninth in the event with a time of 4:28.93.
- Geckler took 10th in the 3,000 Meters and set a new school record in the event with a time of 8:46.50. Pierce came in with a time of 9:18.06 and placed 23rd.
- Ehresman, on his second throw of the day, registered a new school record of 14.40 meters in the Shot Put and placed fourth individually. Michael Keen captured a top-ten finish with a throw of 13.01 meters and Khan Cline had a mark of 11.99 meters.
- Bargaineer wrapped his second day of competition with a fifth-place finish in the Triple Jump after a mark of 13.83 meters.
- Jakob Gerlach led the Bobcats in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:01.82. Ethan Urichko crossed the line at 2:02.77 and Ben Gribbins collected a time of 2:04.71.

The Lees-McRae men's track & field team will now turn its attention to the outdoor season with the LR Bears Open on March 16.
