LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The Lees-McRae men's and women's ski & snowboard team, under head coach
Aaron Maas, collected four National Championships over the past week in Lake Placid, New York.
THE BASICS
MEET: U.S. Collegiate Ski & Snowboard National Championships
LOCATION: Whiteface Mountain – Lake Placid, New York
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcat men took the National Championship in Boarder Cross to start with Jakob Craver leading the way in second place individually. Kenneth Stanford, sixth, and Aiden Garner, seventh, rounded out the Bobcats in the top ten.
- Lees-McRae continued their dominance in the Slalom with first place overall as a team. Stanford, Garner, and Craver finished fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively for the Bobcats. Chance Markland recorded 22nd in the event and Luke Elting placed 34th.
- The Lees-McRae men's snowboarding team rounded out the week with a National Championship in the Team Alpine Combined with 50 total points. Stanford led the Bobcats with a fourth-place individual finish. Craver and Garner followed in fifth and sixth.
- On the women's side, the Bobcats claimed the top podium spot in the Team Alpine Combined event. Lilly Kamp led the Green & Gold on the week with a third-place finish in the Individual Alpine and Nicole Yoos collected fourth place on Saturday.
- Taylor Barrineau (First Team), Aiden Garner (Second Team), Lilly Kamp (Second Team), Nicole Yoos (Second Team), Chance Markland (Honorable Mention), Everett Denny (Honorable Mention), and Jakob Craver (Honorable Mention) were all named to the 2024 USCSA Scholar All-American list as part of the championships.
