BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's tennis improved to 13-4 overall, and 7-1 in Conference Carolinas play with a 7-0 victory over King in Banner Elk. The 13 wins for the Bobcats are the most in a single season since 2009 when Lees-McRae recorded 16 match wins.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats opened play with a sweep of the doubles matches. Pati Vedia Sanchez and Anita Ivanova earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles. Begum Gumussoy and Rhidaim Yang defeated King's No. 2 pair, 6-2, for the doubles point.
- Lees-McRae carried the momentum into singles play with straight-set victories at No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 singles. Sanchez earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over King's Deniz Aytun and Yang tallied a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
- Noor followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles and Ivanova registered the 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles for the Bobcats.
- The Bobcats collected wins by default at No. 5 and 6 singles.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae concludes the regular season with a league match with North Greenville on Saturday, April 20 in Banner Elk. With a win, the Bobcats will clinch a share of the Conference Carolinas regular season title.
