BELMONT, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's tennis fell to Belmont Abbey, 4-3, in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

Pati Vedia Sanchez, and
Rhidaim Yang earned singles victories for the Bobcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Belmont Abbey picked up the pivotal doubles point with a sweep of the doubles matches. Sanchez and Anita Ivanova narrowly fell to Belmont Abbey at No. 1 doubles, 6-3. Begum Gumussoy and Yang dropped a 6-3 decision at No. 2 doubles. Noor and Lina Ngassi Saqout lost 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
- The Bobcats battled back after taking the first three singles victories at No. 1, 2, and 3 singles. Sanchez collected a 7-6 (8), 6-2 win over Frankee Hendricks.
- Yang powered past Kaitlin Nguyen, 6-0, 6-0 and Noor secured the 2-6, 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles over Riley Haner.
- Belmont Abbey took the match with wins at No. 4, 5, and 6 singles. Gumussoy earned the first set, 7-5, but Rebekka Collyer battled back for the three-set win at 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
