MADISON, Wis. – The Lees-McRae men's cycling team took part in the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships in Madison, Wisconsin May 7-10.
Nathan Surowiec led the Bobcats with a third-place finish in Saturday's Road Race.
The Bobcats kicked off their week in the Team Time Trial and finished in sixth place. Philip Naude, David Schuster, and Nicholas Van Rooyen joined fellow teammate Surowiec in the sixth-place finish.
On Saturday, Surowiec led the Bobcats with a podium finish and earned third place. Naude followed Surowiec in 10th place. Van Rooyen (23rd), Manolo Wrolich (24th), Peter Swinand (26th), Schuster (38th), Max Chilsen (56th), and Ben Luna (61st) rounded out Lees-McRae in the Road Race.
On Sunday, the Bobcats concluded the championships in the Criterium. Alejandro Castillo Garcia paced Lees-McRae in 25th place. Surowiec (26th), Swinand (35th), Naude (40th), and Van Rooyen (54th) recorded placements.
