HARROGATE, Tenn. – Lees-McRae softball opened its 2025 season on the campus of Lincoln Memorial today. The Bobcats fell to Emory & Henry and Lincoln Memorial on Saturday.
GAME #1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Emory & Henry – 32; Lees-McRae – 1
LOCATION: Dorothy Neely Softball Complex – Harrogate, Tennessee
RECORDS: Emory & Henry (1-0), Lees-McRae (0-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Allie Johnston collected a RBI single in the top of the first against Emory & Henry. Morgan Crowe scored on the play. The Wasps then scored nine in the bottom half of the inning.
- Emory & Henry took the first game by a score of 32-1.
- Alyssa Prather and McKenzie Presson joined Johnston with one hit apiece in the season opener.
FOR THE WASPS:
- Emory & Henry scored 28 runs in the first three innings.
- Mackenzie Williams, Tristyn Tofano, and Karsen Simpson led the Wasps with four RBIs apiece.
- Malorie Reeves collected the win in the circle with four innings pitched and five strikeouts in the game.
GAME #2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae – 1; Lincoln Memorial – 11
LOCATION: Dorothy Neely Softball Complex – Harrogate, Tennessee
RECORDS: Lincoln Memorial (1-0), Lees-McRae (0-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Presson homered in the fourth inning for the Bobcats, but Lincoln Memorial took the game, 11-1, on Saturday afternoon.
FOR THE RAILSPLITTERS:
- Kristin Griffin tallied four RBIs in today's game on two hits and had two runs scored. Jordann Reagan contributed three RBIs and Nicole Couvertiere collected two runs batted in for the Railsplitters.
- Halle Grace Patton had the complete-game win for LMU with five innings pitched and five strikeouts.

Lees-McRae continues its opening weekend tomorrow. at the Railsplitter Invitational with games against Emory & Henry and Lincoln Memorial. The Bobcats face the Wasps starting at 12 p.m.
