WINTERGREEN, Va. – The Lees-McRae Ski & Snowboard team continued its 2025 season at the USCSA Mid-Atlantic Regional in Wintergreen, Virginia on February 22 and 23.
The men's alpine ski team had a good showing in their first Regionals event. The team finished 13th in GS and 14th in Slalom.
Hunter Post had his best race in Slalom finishing 9th in a field of 73 competitors.
The Bobcat women's snowboard team won their GS event and the overall alpine title.
Nicole Yoos came in first with teammates
Abi Byrd and
Lilly Kamp right behind her in third and fourth places.
Lees-McRae men's snowboard team had similar success winning their GS race and the overall alpine title as well.
Luke Koch finished in first place while teammates
Aiden Garner,
Chance Markland and
Spencer Gibson came in third, fifth, and seventh respectively.
The women's team came in 3rd in the rail jam and first in the slopestyle event giving them enough points to take home the overall freestyle title.
The men's snowboard team won the rail jam and finished in 3rd place in the slopestyle giving them 2nd place in the overall freestyle standings.
Kenneth Stanford won the slopestyle event and came in 3rd in the rail jam.
Luke Elting and
Chance Markland also finished in the top 10, coming in 4th and 7th respectively.
The Lees-McRae Ski & Snowboard now travels to Mt. Bachelor for the USCSA Nationals on March 10 through March 15.
