MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Destiny Brown and
Rylee Konowalchuk added an RBI each in today's first game at Chowan, but the Lees-McRae softball team fell to the Hawks in the Conference Carolinas doubleheader.
GAME #1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Chowan – 6, Lees-McRae – 2
LOCATION: Hawks Field – Murfreesboro, North Carolina
RECORDS: Chowan (18-26/9-14), Lees-McRae (9-36/3-20)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Brown got the Bobcats on the board first with a sacrifice fly in the second inning for the 1-0 lead.
- Chowan scored five runs over the second and third innings and led 6-1 after five frames.
- Konowalchuk added the other run for Lees-McRae with an RBI double that scored Taylor Beurrier.
- Logan Zephir threw two innings in today's start and was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs (three earned) on four hits and one walk. Dayna Patten had three strikeouts in two and two-thirds innings of relief work.
GAME #2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Chowan – 11, Lees-McRae – 0 F/5
LOCATION: Hawks Field – Murfreesboro, North Carolina
RECORDS: Chowan (19-26/10-14), Lees-McRae (9-37/3-21)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Brooke Bennett and Beurrier recorded one hit apiece, but Chowan took the contest by a score of 11-0 in the second game of today's doubleheader.
- Jenna Cruz, Brooks Eaddy, and Konowalchuk added one walk in the contest.
- Jaden Clark was dealt the loss in the circle after allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks on the day.

Lees-McRae concluded the 2025 season this afternoon at Chowan.
