COLUMBIA, Ky. –
Dominic Mudry and
Omar Wilson recorded victories for Lees-McRae men's cycling over the weekend at the Lindsey Wilson Mountain Bike Season Showdown. Wilson claimed the top spot in the Cross Country and Short Track Cross Country races, while Mudry won in the Dual Slalom on Saturday.
THE BASICS
RACE: Lindsey Wilson MTB Showdown
LOCATION: Columbia, Kentucky
NOTABLES:
- Wilson led the Bobcats to a win on Saturday morning in the XC Men's A race. Nathan Surowiec followed in third place and Nicholas Van Rooyen placed eighth for the Bobcats.
- Mudry qualified third in the Dual Slalom qualifying and ultimately earned the victory in the Finals with a win over Marshall Gehrke of Lindsey Wilson.
- Wilson continued his strong start to his freshman year with the win in the STXC race on Sunday. Gabriel Saenz picked up an eighth place finish and Van Rooyen followed in 10th for the Bobcats.
- Avery Phillips collected second in the Men's B XC race on Saturday. Spencer Gibson and Sawyer Widecrantz claimed top-ten finishes with third and sixth, respectively.
- Widecrantz led the Bobcats to a fourth-place finish in the Men's B STXC. Gibson followed in fifth place and Phillips claimed ninth in Sunday's race.
