ZIRCONIA, N.C. – The Lees-McRae men's cycling program was back in action this past weekend in Zirconia, North Carolina at the SECCC Rumble at Rock Creek.
THE BASICS
RACE: SECCC Rumble at Rock Creek
LOCATION: Zirconia, North Carolina
NOTABLES:
- In the Dual Slalom Men's Collegiate A race, the Bobcats swept the top three spots on Saturday. Guillermo Tovar led the charge with first place as Dominic Mudry and Max Ligman followed in second and third.
- Omar Wilson followed up a first-place finish at Truett McConnell the opening weekend with a runner-up finish in the Cross Country Men's Collegiate A race on Saturday. Gabriel Saenz followed in fourth for the Bobcats. Ryan Avery rounded out the Bobcats in the top ten with a 10th place finish.
- In Short Track on Sunday, Wilson earned second place and Saenz placed ninth individually. Avery, Nicholas Van Rooyem, and Alejandro Castillo recorded placements of 11th, 15th and 20th for Lees-McRae.
- Tovar tallied second place in the Downhill event on Sunday and Mudry placed fourth individually for the Bobcats. Max Ligman and Holden Wierema collected fifth and sixth for Lees-McRae on Sunday.
- Boden Chenail picked up a race victory in the Men's Cross Country B race on Saturday and fellow Bobcat Charlie Bowman placed second.
- Chenail continued his winning ways on Sunday in the Short Track discipline with the top spot. Bowman followed in second place also for Sunday's race.
