MILLIGAN, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae softball team returned to the diamond this afternoon and went 1-1 against Milligan on Anglin Field.
Maycee Tickle led the Bobcats in the opening game with four RBIs and a home run.
GAME #1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae – 7, Milligan – 5
LOCATION: Anglin Field – Milligan, Tennessee
RECORDS: Lees-McRae (5-4); Milligan (0-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Allie Johnston got the Bobcats on the board in the first inning with a sacrifice fly that scored Taylor Beurrier.
- Milligan took the 3-1 lead in the second inning after a three-run home run.
- Lees-McRae regained the 4-3 lead after Tickle hit a three-run home run in the third inning and scored Beurrier and Abby Hatley.
- Kierstin Kemper knotted the game at five runs with an RBI single in the sixth. Johnston plated Beurrier in the seventh off a fielder's choice and Hatley scored on a fielder's choice from Tickle for the 7-5 advantage.
- Emma Bigby shut down Milligan the final three innings and scattered three hits for her third win of the season in the circle.
- Hatley led the Bobcats with two hits and two runs scored in the opening game. Tickle followed with one hit and four RBIs. Johnston recorded one hit and two RBIs. Kemper registered one hit and one RBI.
GAME #2 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Johnston tied the second game of the day in the fifth inning after an RBI single up the middle.
- Haylea Huffines gave the Bobcats the 3-1 lead after a two-run home run over the center field wall. Kemper scored on the play.
- The Bobcats registered one more run in the top of the seventh via a groundout from Johnston.
- Milligan rallied back in the seventh after a two-run double from Jaylyn Halliburton. Milligan took game two by a final of 5-4.
- Hatley, Johnston, Kemper, and Tickle all recorded two hits apiece. Huffines and Johnston tallied two RBIs each in the contest.
- Bigby suffered the loss after allowing two runs (two earned) in the final frame. Georgia McConnell started the game in the circle and allowed one run (one earned) on three hits.

Lees-McRae heads to Greeneville, Tennessee to face Tusculum on Tuesday, February 24 for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
