Makenzie Hicks accounted for 308 passing yards and five touchdowns as the Lees-McRae flag football team opened Conference Carolinas play with a 87-6 win at Chowan this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats opened the scoring with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Ava Rivera to Natalia Hernández de León for the 8-0 lead with 9:02 to play in the first quarter.
- Hicks found Tami Chatwood for the 19-yard score with 1:55 left in the first quarter and Mackenzie Walker intercepted a Hawk pass and took it for 38 yards for another score at 29-0.
- Rivera found Hernández de León for another passing touchdown and added to the Bobcat lead at 35-0. Lees-McRae led 35-0 at the end of the first half.
- The Bobcats added 52 more points in the second half for the dominant 87-6 win over Chowan.
- Hicks completed 23 of 36 attempts for 308 yards and five touchdowns. Rivera went 7-10 for 90 yards and three touchdowns. Kennedy Vannoy led the rushing attack with 101 total yards and one touchdown. Hernández de León hauled in five receptions for 106 yards and four touchdowns. Ashley Alvarado recorded five receptions for 72 yards.
- Vannoy led the Bobcats on defense with 10 tackles and two interceptions. Walker registered 10 total tackles and three interceptions.
