BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae women's flag football team kicked off its inaugural season in a strong way with two dominant performances this afternoon against NC Central. The Bobcats earned the first win in school history with a 57-0 shutout victory and continued the strong start with a 53-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Makenzie Hicks led the Bobcats in a strong throwing effort with 11 combined touchdowns over the two games and 372 passing yards in the contest.
- Ashley Alvarado hauled in three touchdowns in the first contest and 97 receiving yards. Natalia Hernández de León recorded 81 yards on two receptions and one touchdown. Hicks and Hernández de León connected on a 66-yard touchdown pass for the Bobcats.
- Sofia Antwi-Silva led the defense in the shutout with eight tackles and four sacks in today's performance. Kennedy Vannoy collected two interceptions over the two games.
