Kayla Fleming posted three individual event wins, while
Carson Cross,
Anastasia Johnson,
J.D. McCray and
Sophia Vanderpool were all double-winners as Lees-McRae claimed a pair of victories over West Virginia Tech and Shawnee State in the tri-meet this afternoon.
"Overall, it was a good preparation for the next three weekends of competition," said Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach
Sean Weddell. "This meet allows us to see what we will need to work on moving forward."

MEN'S RESULTS: Lees-McRae def. West Virginia Tech, 143-49; Lees-McRae def. Shawnee State, 160-50
LOCATION: YMCA of Southern West Virginia – Beckley, W. Va.
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Fleming won the 50 free (29.22), 100 fly (1:13.62) and 400 free (4:49.59), while also pairing up with Guillermina Rentsch, Molly Layde and Vanderpool to claim the 200 medley relay title with a time of 2:09.90
- Johnson touched first in the 100 free (1:03. 84) and the 100 breast (1:19.19) to go along with joining Layde, Jenna Morris and Tate Abbott to win the 200 free relay in 2:01.53.
- Vanderpool posted victories in both the 200 individual medley (2:42.22) and 200 breast (2:53.69).
- In addition to being a part of both relay wins, Layde also captured the title in the 200 back with a time of 2:32.72.
- Kandace Kennedy and Abbott also won the 100 back (1:12.91) and the 200 free (2:17.50) respectively.
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Cross paced the men's team in the pool by winning the 100 breast (1:05.44) and the 200 breast (2:35.16), while also joining Thomas Savage, Cooper Gobble and McCray to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:54.75.
- McCray touched first in both the 200 free (2:00.19) and the 200 individual medley (2:17.19).
- Savage and Cooper Hoagland won the 100 back (1:06.37) and the 50 free (25.22) respectively, before teaming up with Gobble and Kolin Fadden to claim the 200 free relay title in 1:42.15.
- Christian Nishimura posted a win in the 200 back (2:15.18) and Josh Dowdy touched first in the 100 free (55.94).

Lees-McRae will return to the pool next Saturday as it travels to Jefferson City, Tenn. for a dual meet against Carson-Newman starting at 1 p.m.
