Jean Origene broke the Lees-McRae school indoor record in the 55-meter dash, while 11 other Bobcats posted top-five finishes in their respective events, to lead the Lees-McRae men's indoor track & field team at the Appalachian State Invitational this evening.

MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Origene finished second overall in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.45 seconds, which broke his old record by .01 seconds set back in December.
- J.D. Green also posted a second-place finish in the long jump competition with a mark of 6.11 meters, followed closely by Christian Bargaineer and Orrin Elmer with distances of 6.07 and 5.94 for third and fifth place respectively.
- The 4x400-meter relay team of Ben Gribbins, Elias Zajicek, Garrett Ybarra, and Brennen Pierce finished second overall with a time of 3:40.03.
- David James Exum and Bargaineer were third in the shot put (11.42 meters) and fifth in the triple jump (12.82 meters) respectively to close out the field events for the Bobcats.
- Max Geckler and Ian Kelbert were third and fourth respectively in both the 5,000-meter run (16:07.88 for Geckler / 16:18.30 for Kelbert) and the 3,000-meter run (9:29.50 for Geckler / 9:43.11 for Kelbert).
- Pierce, Silas Arendash, and Rien Freeman were third (4:35.51), fourth (4:41.55), and fifth (4:42.64) in the mile run respectively.
- Aaron Kirby was also fifth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.62, while Zajicek was fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.03.

The Bobcats will travel to Johnson City, Tennessee on Friday, Feb. 4 to compete in the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational
