RESULTS
BOONE, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's and women's swimming hosted their home opener on Saturday afternoon at the Watauga County Parks and Recreation Center. The men's team battled the University of the Cumberlands in a dual meet while the women's squad faced UNC Pembroke and the Cumberlands.
THE BASICS
MEN'S RESULTS: University of the Cumberlands -- 156.50; Lees-McRae -- 137.50
WOMEN'S RESULTS: University of the Cumberlands -- 180; Lees-McRae -- 106 | UNCP -- 162.50; Lees-McRae -- 118.50
LOCATION: Watauga County Parks and Recreation Center -- Boone, North Carolina
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Lees-McRae started the afternoon with the 400 Yard Medley Relay where the Bobcats picked up the victory with Zachary Cameron, Chase Davis, Caleb Eidson, and Josh Walls finished in 3:31.24.
- Eidson earned the first individual victory for the men's team in the 200 Yard Freestyle as he touched the wall in a time of 1:45.77 and Wall followed with an event win in the 200 Yard Butterfly.
- Eidson picked up another victory in the 50Y Free as he finished in 21.41.
- Wall earned his second and third victories of the day in the 100 fly and and 200 Yard IM to pace the Bobcats with three individual victories.
- Lees-McRae men's swimming closed the afternoon in style with the victory in the 400 Free Relay with the team of Chase Davis, Cooper Gobble joining Cameron and Eidson.
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Tate Abbott registered the first victory for the women's program on the day in the 200 Free as she finished in 1:57.28. Abbott finished the day with two individual victories and added a second-place finish in the 50 Free.
- Fanny Courbot earned two second-place finishes in the 100- and 200-Yard Breaststroke for the Bobcats and picked up a second place in the 400 Yard Medley Relay with teammates Guillermina Rentsch, Lucia Ruchti, and Abbott.
- Ruchti tied for second in the 200 Free after Abbott earned the victory in the event and placed fourth in the both the 50 and 100 Free.
- The Bobcats women's swimming program closed the afternoon in the 400 Free Relay with a third place. Abbott and Ruchti joined fellow Bobcats Hannah Hudson and Taylor Simmons for the third-place finish.

The Lees-McRae men's and women's swimming programs are back in action on Friday, Oct. 28 as the Bobcats head to Mars Hill for a dual meet with the Lions.
