JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. – Lees-McRae men's and women's swimming headed to nationally ranked Carson-Newman on Saturday where the Bobcats fell to the Eagles in Jefferson City, Tennessee.
THE BASICS
MEN'S RESULTS: Lees-McRae -- 52; No. 20 Carson-Newman -- 152
WOMEN'S RESULTS: Lees-McRae -- 33; No. 15 Carson-Newman -- 168
LOCATION: Maddox Student Activities Center Pool-- Jefferson City, Tennessee
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Lees-McRae finished in second in the 400 Yard Medley Relay to begin the meet with a time of 3:40.57. The Bobcats in the event were Chase Davis, Caleb Eidson, Nathan Higdon, and Josh Wall.
- Davis turned in a solid performance for the Bobcats with a second-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:52.41) and notched second in the 100Y Backstroke in a time of 55.71.
- Eidson picked up a runner-up finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 21.86. Cooper Gobble placed fifth with a time of 23.03 and Andrew Fair-Purcell touched the wall in sixth at 23.95.
- Asie Buttar placed third in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 55.49 and Carter Hawkes followed in fourth at 56.91.
- Higdon took second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke after stopping the clock at 1:01.59 and Wal collected third in a time of 1:02.08.
- The Bobcats rounded out the dual meet in third at the 200 Yard Free Relay with a time of 1:30.76 with teammates Thomas Ware, Wall, Gobble, and Eidson.
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- On the women's side, Lees-McRae started the dual with a third-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay in a time of 4:19.72. Kandace Kennedy, Hannah Hudson, Tate Abbott, and Riley Gleason made up the 'A' relay.
- Abbott tallied a second-place finish in the 100 Free with a time of 54.12. Abbott took fourth in the 50 Free after finishing the event in 24.69.
- Guillermina Rentsch earned third in the 100-yard Backstroke after touching the wall at 1:02.28. Kennedy followed in fourth with a time of 1:03.66.
- Taylor Simmons placed third in the 500Y Free and took seven seconds off her season best at 5:31.30.
- Piper Kelly placed fourth in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:11.09.
- Lees-McRae completed the dual with a third-place finish in the 200 Free Relay with Bobcats Hudson, Kennedy, Simmons, and Abbott completing the relay in 1:43.54.

The Lees-McRae men's and women's swimming programs are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 28 when they face King and Mars Hill in a tri-meet in Bristol.
