KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Lees-McRae men's and women's swimming were back in the pool on Friday with the Bobcats picking up five more All-Conference Carolinas honors on the day and breaking two school records.
THE BASICS
MEET: Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships
LOCATION: Kingsport Aquatic Center – Kingsport, Tennessee.
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Nathan Higdon started Friday's finals with a second-place finish in the 400 Yard IM in a time of 4:03.86.
- Josh Wall narrowly missed all-conference accolades in the 100 Yard Butterfly after touching the wall in a time of 50.59 and placed fifth.
- Caleb Eidson tied for fourth in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:41.59 and Cooper Gobble placed 10th for the Bobcats.
- Chase Davis earned a school record in the 100 Yard Backstroke after a time of 50.83 seconds in tonight's finals which he previously broke Friday morning in the prelims at 51.12.
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Tate Abbott opened the evening for Lees-McRae women's swimming with a silver medal in the 200Y Free with a time of 1:55.20 and Lucia Ruchti followed in third after posting a time of 1:55.99.
- Fanny Courbot collected a second-place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke after a time of 1:04.82.
- Guillermina Renstch rounded out the individual honors for Lees-McRae and delivered another school record for the Bobcats in the 100 Yard Back with a time of 58.06.
