Ryan Bird, and
Spence Combs all had two goals apiece as Lees-McRae men's lacrosse dropped their Conference Carolinas opener at Chowan this afternoon, 16-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gage Farris, Ayden Fraelle, Logan Ryan, and Charlie Taylor joined their fellow Bobcats with one goal apiece and Kaleb Simpson had a game-high 10 ground ball pickups on 15 face-off wins.
- Combs and Tyler Flannelly paced Lees-McRae with threes points apiece as Flannelly assisted on three goals for the Bobcats and Combs added an assist.
- Liam Murphy suffered the loss in goal for Lees-McRae after allowing 16 goals on 26 shots on goal.
- Bird and Farris scored back-to-back goals to give the Bobcats the 5-3 advantage with 8:58 remaining in the first half. The two sides even the score at 6-all after Adams found the back of the net with 2:28 left in the second quarter.
- Lees-McRae evened the score against eight goals, but Chowan finished the contest on a 8-2 scoring run to secure the 16-10 victory in Conference Carolinas play.
FOR THE HAWKS:
- Erik Dozzi and Jaxon Martin each scored four goals for the Hawks and Martin had three assists also.
- Gavin Koors made 15 stops in goal for Chowan en route to the 16-10 win.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae hosts North Greenville on Wednesday, March 29 for a Conference Carolinas matchup on Tate Field. The contest is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
