GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas announced its 2025-26 Conference Carolinas Male Athlete of the Year nominees this morning and Lees-McRae men's lacrosse Senior
Cayden Onagi was one of seven finalists.
Onagi, in 2026, was tabbed the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year, Conference Carolinas First Team, 2026 USILA Division II All-South Third Team and 2026 USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America Third Team. Onagi led the Bobcats with the most points in a single season with 99 and led Division II in points per game at 6.60.
The Male Athlete of the Year Award is awarded to the most outstanding male student-athlete for the year in the league. Per Director of Athletics votes, nominations will be accepted from member institutions to only include conference-sponsored sports and all nomination information, statistics, and accomplishments are solely based on athletically-related criteria.
The winner of the 2025-26 Conference Carolinas Male Athlete of the Year will be announced on Thursday, July 9.
