HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae softball team rounded out their spring break trip on Thursday afternoon with a doubleheader at USC Beaufort. The Sand Sharks took both games on the day.
GAME #1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: USC Beaufort– 2; Lees-McRae – 0
LOCATION: Richard Gray Sports Complex – Hardeeville, South Carolina
RECORDS: USC Beaufort (10-8), Lees-McRae (5-10)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lonna Addison threw six innings in the opening game of today's doubleheader, but USCB recorded two runs in the fifth for the 2-0 win in their home field.
- Addison compiled five strikeouts while allowing two runs (two earned) on four hits in the outing.
- Allie Johnston led the Bobcats with two hits in the game. Addison and Destiny Brown each collected a hit in the contest.
FOR THE SAND SHARKS:
- Cierra Kinlaw went the distance for USC Beaufort after striking out six while scattering four hits in the shutout win.
GAME #2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: USC Beaufort – 13; Lees-McRae – 3
LOCATION: Jimmy Martin Field – Hardeeville, South Carolina
RECORDS: USC Beaufort (11-8), Lees-McRae (5-11)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Taylor Beurrier got the Bobcats on the board in the first inning with a two-run double, but Lees-McRae fell short, 13-3, to USC Beaufort in the second game.
- USCB recorded eight runs in the bottom of the first inning and tallied five more runs over the five-inning contest.
- Addison compiled two hits in the game with one RBI. Beurrier paced the Bobcats with one double and two RBIs in the game.
FOR THE SAND SHARKS:
- Jaden Goodwin paced the Sand Sharks with four RBIs on two hits. Makenzie Fore followed with three RBIs on a three-run home run and both Daryn Miller and Addie Reynolds collected two RBIs in the game.
