CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Five Bobcats tallied their first goals of the season, but it was not enough as nationally-ranked No. 18 Queens (N.C.) outscored the visiting Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team 14-1 in the first half en route to claiming a 21-5 win in the non-conference season opener for both teams this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tyler Flannelly, J.P. Galloway, Ryan Bird, Tyler Finley, and Jake Emm all scored their first goals of the early season to pace the Bobcats, while Flannelly also picked up an assist.
- Queens opened by scoring the first 12 goals unanswered before Bird scored a man-up goal with 10:28 left in the second quarter off an assist by Flannelly.
- The Lions scored the final two goals of the half to take a 14-1 halftime advantage.
- Galloway and Flannelly both scored unassisted goals in the third quarter, while Emm tallied his first collegiate goal and Finley scored unassisted goal in the fourth frame to close out the scoring for the Bobcats.
- Antonio Cruz finished with a game-high 10 saves in net for the Bobcats.
- Queens held a 43-27 edge in shots and held Lees-McRae to 1 of 9 on the extra-man opportunities.
FOR THE FOES:
- Jack Royer finished with five goals to lead the Lions, while Kealan Pilon and Tyler Ewen both scored four goals.
- Three Queens players shared times in net and combined for 11 saves.
