BANNER ELK, N.C. – Four Bobcats finished with multiple goals, including
Ryan Bird who scored the game-winning goal with 2:34 left in the overtime period and
J.P. Galloway who scored a game-high four goals, to lift the Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team to a thrilling 13-12 win over visiting Young Harris in the non-conference contest this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Galloway led the Bobcats in scoring with also finishing with an assist, two ground balls, and a caused turnover.
- Tyler Finley chipped in three goals, while Bird added two goals and a caused turnover.
- Brady Ferriter added two goals and two assists, with Spence Combs and J.P. Daniels also scoring and Jake Emm, Antonio Cruz, and Tyler Flannelly adding an assist each.
- Young Harris opened the scoring just 49 seconds into the contest but failed to grab momentum as both teams scored three first-quarter goals. Combs, Finley, and Galloway all scored for the Bobcats in the first frame.
- Lees-McRae pushed the lead to 5-3 with back-to-back goals by Galloway and Ferriter, but a late goal by the Mountain Lions cut the deficit to 5-4 at halftime.
- After Finley scored a man-up goal to open the second-half scoring, Young Harris scored a pair of unanswered goals to even the score at 6-6.
- Bird and Galloway both scored in the final two minutes of the third quarter to give the Bobcats a 9-7 lead at the final intermission.
- Finley, Galloway, and Daniels scored in the fourth frame for the Bobcats to extend the lead to 12-10 with 33 seconds remaining.
- Young Harris preceded to score two goals in the final 15 seconds to send the game into an extra session.
- After a successful clear attempt by the Bobcats with 3:26 left in overtime, Bird collected the ball off an initial shot by Finley and scored his second goal of the game to give Lees-McRae the non-conference win.
- Cruz tallied 10 saves in net for the Bobcats to clinch the victory.
- The Bobcats held a slim 25-22 edge in shot-on-goal in the contest and forced a game-high 29 turnovers.
FOR THE FOES:
- Wyatt Peek and Tommy Chriszt both scored three goals to pace the Mountain Lions, while Dylan Wilbur finished with a game-high 12 saves in net for Young Harris.
