Ryan Bird and
J.P. Galloway combined for nine goals and four assists, with
J.P. Daniels and
Jake Emm both chipped in two goals apiece, but it was not enough as visiting Chowan tallied six goals in the first, second, and fourth quarters to clinch a 21-14 win over the Bobcats in the regular-season finale for both teams this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bird paced the Bobcats with a team-high five goals to go along with two assists and two ground balls, while Galloway tallied four goals, two assists, four ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
- Daniels chipped in two goals, an assist, and two caused turnovers, with Emm also scoring twice for the Bobcats.
- Tyler Flannelly scored, while Tyler Finley chipped in an assist.
- Chowan sprinted out of the gates by scoring the first four goals of the game until a pair of goals by Daniels and Galloway trimmed the deficit to 4-2.
- The Hawks scored two of the final three goals in the first quarter, with Daniels scoring his second, to claim a 6-3 lead at the first intermission.
- Chowan held a 3-2 edge in goals in the second quarter, with Galloway and Emm scoring for Lees-McRae, to extend the lead to 9-5 at halftime.
- Bird (two goals) and Emm both scored in the third stanza, but the Hawks scored late in the frame to take a 15-8 lead in the final intermission.
- Both teams scored six goals in the fourth quarter, with Bird scoring three times, Galloway scoring twice, and Flannelly lighting the lamp for the Bobcats, as Chowan held on for the conference win.
- Antonio Cruz finished with a game-high 18 saves in goal for the Bobcats.
- Chowan held a 39-23 edge in shots-on-goal and forced 35 Bobcat turnovers.
- Lees-McRae finished 2 of 5 on extra-man opportunities.
FOR THE FOES:
- Both Jaxon Martin and Eric George tallied a game-high six goals to pace the Hawks, while Alec Rodopoulos and Chris Maini combined to make nine saves in net.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats will enter the Conference Carolinas postseason tournament as the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 North Greenville for the first round on Tuesday, April 26 at 7 p.m.
